A Review of Perla del Mar

The Coolest Smoke on the Block
Perla G  (6 ¼ x 52) Cigar

Country of Origin: Nicaragua
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut Leaf
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan

Not even kidding people! This stick burns cool all the way through. I smoked it down to the nub and found this Nicaraguan box pressed cigar to be quite impressive.

At first sight you notice the texture of the wrapper and waves in the seam. The body has a slightly spongy feel which hints at an easy draw.  The pre-light aroma at the foot is very nice. It is a well-aged tobacco scent that is very inviting.

Once lit the cigar produces a hefty smoke, and although the cigar has an easy draw the Perla G burns surprisingly slow, it even corrected itself after becoming slightly uneven.  But the point that cannot be emphasized enough is the coolness of the burn, most unexpected on such a loosely constructed cigar.

The flavor profile is quite refreshing to the palate. With a smooth, light texture; this stick makes for a mild and creamy cigar experience. It has little to no spice, perhaps some in the cheeks if any.  The smoke gives off a slight wood flavor, with sweet notes throughout the cigar.

All in all, The Perla G makes for a sophisticated, confident smoke; and it is certainly a pleasure to do so.

Recommended Setting: With Coffee, Mornings, and/or 1st Cigar of the Day.

Other Notes: Value Priced! $5.25 - $6.75 per cigar.
