SERIE R Esteli Event this Thursday, Oct. 3rd

SERIE R Esteli
by La Gloria Cubana

This Week...
Thursday, October 3rd 5-9PM

La Gloria Cubana Serie R started the large ring, full flavor craze back in 1999.  The trend-setting brand is charting a new course with the release of SERIE R Esteli, named for its Nicaraguan roots.

A brick and mortar exclusive, Serie R Esteli is a collection of large ring, full-flavored Nicaraguan puros, made from tobacco sourced from a string of unconnected, independent farms on the Jalapa mountainside.  In a departure from its Dominican roots, Serie R Esteli is handcrafted in Nicaragua and showcases Nicaraguan tobacco in an optimally aged, palate-pleasing splendor.

However, probably the most exciting differences of the Serie R Esteli from its Dominican counterpart are the price-points.  Suggested Retail per stick is $7.50-$8.50, almost 30% lower than the original Serie R.

There Will be Deals and Prizes.
- BUY 3 GET 1
- BUY a BOX (18ct) and Recieve a Free Leather Travel Humidor.

A Review of Perla del Mar

The Coolest Smoke on the Block
Perla G  (6 ¼ x 52) Cigar

Country of Origin: Nicaragua
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Connecticut Leaf
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan

Not even kidding people! This stick burns cool all the way through. I smoked it down to the nub and found this Nicaraguan box pressed cigar to be quite impressive.

At first sight you notice the texture of the wrapper and waves in the seam. The body has a slightly spongy feel which hints at an easy draw.  The pre-light aroma at the foot is very nice. It is a well-aged tobacco scent that is very inviting.

Once lit the cigar produces a hefty smoke, and although the cigar has an easy draw the Perla G burns surprisingly slow, it even corrected itself after becoming slightly uneven.  But the point that cannot be emphasized enough is the coolness of the burn, most unexpected on such a loosely constructed cigar.

The flavor profile is quite refreshing to the palate. With a smooth, light texture; this stick makes for a mild and creamy cigar experience. It has little to no spice, perhaps some in the cheeks if any.  The smoke gives off a slight wood flavor, with sweet notes throughout the cigar.

All in all, The Perla G makes for a sophisticated, confident smoke; and it is certainly a pleasure to do so.

Recommended Setting: With Coffee, Mornings, and/or 1st Cigar of the Day.

Other Notes: Value Priced! $5.25 - $6.75 per cigar.

"Taste of Nicaragua" Event by JC Newman Cigar Co. Up Next.

"Taste of Nicaragua"
Thursday, September 19th 5-9PM

Our next event at Anstead's Tobacco Company features two of the most popular value brands in the humidor today.  BrickHouse and Perla del Mar are both Nicaraguan puros made by the JC Newman Cigar Co.  These two cigars offer flavor profiles with broad appeal and price points to match.  There will be Deals, Raffles & Prizes.

BRICKHOUSE

You know them well.  The "2010 Cigar Bargain of the Year" has never lost it's luster in our humidor and these medium-bodied cigars are the perfect backyard BBQ, Football Tailgate, or everyday smoke.

A new additon to the BrickHouse lineup this year is the Robusto Maduro.  JC Newman took the wrapper from its immensly popular 6x60 Mighty Mighty Maduro and applied it to their top rated Robusto size.  The smooth sweet taste of the Maduro wrapper now excels on a more traditional cigar size.  If you like smooth Maduro cigars without the time commitment of a Mighty Mighty then the new Robusto Maduro is for you.

Price Range $5.60-$6.95

PERLA DEL MAR

First announced in August 2012, JC Newman's "Perla del Mar" is a Nicaraguan box-pressed smoke made in the same factory that rolls their well-known Brickhouse cigar. Comprised of an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and Nicaraguan fillers from four different regions of the country, the Perla del Mar is all about flavor & solid construction.  This blend is a hit because of the combination of exceptional flavor and price point not commonly found in a mild cigar.

Price Range $5.25-$6.95
